Woollahra SDA Adventurers Club

Adventurers is a fun club for kids aged 5 - 9. It is designed to strengthen parent-child relationships by providing regular activities for this group. This program provides a fun environment in which kids and parents can participate together. Adventurers is an International organisation that is sponsored by the local Seventh-day Adventist Church for members of this age group. Each club is run by trained volunteers.

The program includes age challenging activities that range from games, outdoor activities, nature exploring, family camping, faith developing and caring for others. The church's greatest resource is our children; therefore, it is imperative that as a church we meet the challenge to provide a program for our children during their early and formative years. The program aims to build upon the habits, thoughts, motives, dispositions, and attitudes the child already possesses.

A wise man wrote "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs . 22:6 (NIV). A very pertinent point when one considers the many competing interests in today's complex world. One of the Adventurer Club objectives is to provide a meaningful and exciting experience as the children look forward with anticipation to some day being in Pathfinders.

We are always looking for more children so be sure to bring your special child along.

Recent Events

Clean Up Australia Day

What a fantastic half day that was had by all. Together with the Pathfinder Club we cleaned up La Perouse on a majestic summer's day on the 20th Anniversary of Clean Up Australia. The kids formed part of some of the 236,000 volunteers across NSW who assisted on the day. For some, it was their first time and of course they were pretty cactus by the end, so many of them headed to the beach for a dip afterwards to cool down. Well done to everyone involved and no doubt everyone will be back again next year. A big thank you to all the parents for assisting on the day.

Adventurer Fun Day

Our first Conference event for 2010 went without a hitch. The weather was great albeit a little hot. Our club was amongst one of over 20 Adventurer clubs from the Greater Sydney Conference to take part in the Fun Day. Woollahra was welcomed as one of the newcomers. We had all our kids present in full uniform and they looked great. Daisy had the honour of being our club flag bearer and she did a fantastic job. Our kids officially marched for the first time with all the other clubs.

Afterwards they took part in several rotating games where they had a ball and were able to mix and meet kids from other clubs. There were many food stalls with great vegetarian dishes to choose from different nationalities and after lunch the kids took part in a weather fashion parade where clubs were able to showcase their creative costumes and talents. Ofcourse the kids, and parents were pretty tired by the end of the day but everyone had a great time and will be looking forward to next year's Fun Day.
